A Letter from Narrow Road Home

Hello South Calgary,

The Pastors, Elders and the Missions Committee of our church would like to share with you a letter we have received from the Narrow Road Home, a ministry that our church has embraced to support financially and in prayers.

Dear SCCC,

We want to start by saying how incredibly grateful we are for your financial support, caring hearts and prayerful commitment to our Women’s Addiction Recovery Centre, Narrow Road Home. Without the support of churches and faithful donors like you, we would not be able to keep our doors open to serve so many women in need.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis the majority of our monthly expenses are now coming from our limited emergency savings. Our costs for the food, mortgages, staffing, counselling and client care are around 20-23k monthly depending on the number of women in the homes. We currently are taking care of 20 women in the two homes we have operating in the town of High River, AB. All of our daily costs have increased as the women have been isolating in place.

Previously, our costs were off-set by way of income from our Creperie, Teahouse and Clothing boutique at which the women themselves run and volunteer as a way of giving back. We are well into several months on and off of our businesses being forced to close and we are so blessed you have gifted us a monthly donation to help meet our budget. Specifically, we are using the funds you are providing to contribute to our monthly food costs.

We look forward to continuing to grow our ministry and to be able to share testimonies of the transformed lives and families being restored through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings to you,

Kimberley Courtney-Engbrecht
