God in a Shoebox

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is a hands-on project through Samaritan’s Purse that brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes. It is one way to remind children suffering as a result of war, poverty, famine, disease and disaster that they are loved and not forgotten.

A simple gift-filled shoebox delivered to a child in need can give hope, change lives, and transform communities. A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child.

To find out how to pack a shoebox and for ideas on what to pack in a shoebox, visit the Samaritan’s Purse website Operation Christmas Child - Samaritan's Purse Canada (samaritanspurse.ca). You can also pack a shoebox online if that is an option you would prefer.

This year’s Shoebox Campaign National Collection Week is November 15 – 21, 2021. South Calgary Community Church is a drop off location so you may bring your filled shoeboxes here.

“Every shoebox gift is an opportunity to reach a child with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s about telling children around the world and their families that God loves them. He hasn’t forgotten them. We’re taking the Good News to the ends of the earth and doing it through a shoebox.

-Franklin Graham, President and CEO, Samaritan’s Purse
