Missions at South Calgary

The Missions Team meets biweekly online on Tuesday evenings and seeks God to guide us on how to serve Him and our community.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10

We are praying about new possibilities for Cedarbrae community outreach for the New Year that build on the Bags of Hope initiative. Community door visits have stopped over winter and will resume again in the spring. Please pray for the Cedarbrae residents, that they will turn to Jesus and receive His gift of salvation. A suggestion is, to pray every time you walk or drive into the community!

There are new people entering our doors every week! Please make a point of engaging in conversation so that they feel noticed and welcomed. Assign yourself as a “Greeter”, and introduce yourself and them to others in the church. If someone enters on their own, invite them to sit with you in the service. Include someone else in the congregation, if it makes things feel more comfortable. We ask for your continued prayer and big hearts for newcomers and returning friends.

Please pray for SCCC's involvement in the Mustard Seed dinners and ask God if He wants you to serve the first Wednesday of the month, as we have a challenging shortfall of volunteers. Currently, the Mustard Seed has the clients and servers separated, please pray that all barriers to ministering are removed.

Your Missions team is asking God how to reach and serve our community. If you have any ideas on how we can do this, please contact us individually or by email to missions@southcalgary.church.

We praise God for His good gifts and for using us for His purpose.

Sarah Blackmore, Mike Behrend, Stephen Blackmur and Derik Simpson
