Elders to be re-affirmed for the 2nd term.
Derik Simpson grew up in a Christian Home and accepted Jesus when he was 9 years old. Derik started living in Calgary in 1992 (which, by the way is the same year that the Stampeders won there 2nd Grey Cup since 1948!). Derik met, then married his beautiful wife Kathy in 1991. They have been attending SCCC since 1992. Derik is actively involved at SCCC and is presently on the Worship team. Derik & Kathy have 2 amazing young adult children Matthew and Jessica.
Ron Fox grew up in a Christian home in Iowa, made a commitment to Christ when he was 10 and was baptized later on at Summer Camp. Ron met and married Judith 54 years ago. They moved to Canada in 1975. He pastored Summerland Baptist Church (BC) 1975-1982; pastored Heights Baptist Church (Medicine Hat) 1982-1992; Head Librarian at Rocky Mountain College 1992-2005; now "retired" but does preach once a month at Pavilion of Hope Church (in Queensland). They have been members at SCCC for over 6 years. They have 3 sons and 4 grandchildren.
Russell Irodenko came to know Christ when he was 14 and was baptized at Kyiv Baptist Church in Ukraine in 1992. During a time of great revival, Russel participated in many evangelical events preaching the good news. Later in Canada, this experience opened an opportunity for him to lead a choir at Edmonton Slavic Church and to become a youth leader there. After returning to Ukraine he married his wife, Olga and moved to Canada again in 2008, finally making Calgary their permanent home. Together they are raising Bogdan (11) and Nazar (9). Russell became a member of SCCC in 2015 and is actively involved in Russian Ministry.
