Anne on Mission

We are excited to share with you a letter from Anne Medeiros, who is preparing to take a significant step of faith this spring. Anne has been accepted to serve on a short-term mission team through Power to Change, traveling to Armenia to bring practical help and the hope of Christ to local communities. As part of our church family, we are grateful to see how God is at work in her life and calling her to serve beyond our walls. We invite you to read her letter below and consider how you might encourage and support her through prayer and partnership.

Dear South Calgary Family,

I am excited to share with you that I have been accepted into a team of students participating in a mission trip this spring to Armenia. This team is part of a ministry called Power to Change, which is partnering with Global Aid Network (GAiN).

Power to Change is an interdenominational organization that engages all domains of society, helping people know Jesus and experience His power to change the world. I have been involved with Power to Change Students, formerly known as Campus for Christ, at the University of Calgary since the beginning of last semester. It has been a transformative experience, helping me become bolder in my faith and to step outside of my comfort zone.

From May 1st to 17th, I will be working with a team of students and P2C-S staff from across Canada to provide humanitarian aid and share the love of Christ through both word and practical action within local Armenian communities. We will collaborate on construction projects, engage with the sponsorship program families, and share our testimony and faith with those who do not yet know Christ.

We will also connect with fellow Power to Change Students in Armenia, having opportunities to learn how they are walking in faith as students themselves. I am beyond thrilled to learn about Armenian culture and to see the work God has in store for the people of Armenia. I believe this will be an amazing experience for me and a blessing to those I have the opportunity to minister to.

As I prepare, l am trusting God to provide a team who will partner with me through prayer and financial support. I am currently raising $4,500 to cover travel, accommodations, and in-country mission expenses. The goal is to meet the deadline of raising $1,500 by March 9th, and the remaining fundraising to be completed by April 25th.
