Spreading Joy Through a Shoebox

Operation Christmas Child is a long known project through Samaritan’s Purse that’s impact starts with a shoebox and becomes so much more.

From the very beginning when you select and pack the items for the shoebox God has a plan. 

Using a simple gift we open up the opportunity for God’s Joy to be brought to that child who receives the shoebox. From the shoebox the children are introduced to The Greatest Journey which is a 12 week discipleship class that introduces the Joy of Jesus. That Joy gets brought back to their families and villages and has a further impact all starting from a shoebox. 

We’re excited, as South Calgary Community Church is again one of the drop-off locations in our city. In 2024, South Calgary received 709 shoeboxes between November 14-20. In total, Canadians packed 436, 000 shoeboxes. WOW!

Keep your eyes out for sales and collect items to fill your shoebox. All items must be new. Item ideas for the different ages can be found under the bulletin board in the lobby. Shoeboxes are available by the office along with brochures.

Please keep in mind the child you are packing the shoebox for and have fun!
