Thank You Earl

Every month in our Church Update Email, we take a moment to celebrate one of the many volunteers who serve so faithfully at South Calgary. Our church is blessed with people who give their time and gifts so generously, and our ministry simply wouldn’t be the same without them. This month, we want to express our gratitude to Earl Slobodian.

If there is something broken, leaking, rattling, or needing attention in our building, chances are Earl has already been on the roof, in the mechanical room, or crawling through a tight space to fix it. Earl is one of those quiet, dependable servants who never waits to be asked—he simply sees a need and steps in.

This past July, after the heavy spring and summer rains, we faced several significant leaks around the church. Earl inspected the roof, traced the water flow, opened ceiling tiles to help dry the space, sealed venting areas, and kept us updated with photos, videos, and detailed reports. His careful work stopped the water coming into the kitchen. Thanks to Earl’s diligence, we were able to prevent further damage and care for our building well.

We may be late in saying it, but we certainly haven’t forgotten: Earl, thank you.

Thank you for your time, your skill, your patience, and your faithfulness. Your service strengthens our whole church family, and we are truly grateful for you.

May God bless you richly for the way you bless others.
