I am so excited that people are talking about the opportunity to get together and sing songs of the Christmas season. Below are some of the questions I have been asked and the answers. Hope it will help you decide if the Christmas Choir is for you this year!

Q: I can't sing but I love Christmas music, can I come and listen?
A: This excerpt from page 3 of Keith and Kristyn Getty's book "Sing: How Worship Transforms Your Life, Family and Church" addresses this concern so well:
Sometimes we meet people who say, "I can't sing"- as in, "The sound that comes out of my mouth when I try to sing is not what I was hoping for." But if you can speak, you can physically sing. The truth is that God designed you to sing and he gave you everything you need to sing, as well as He wants you to. He's far less concerned with your tunefulness than your integrity. Christian singing begins with the heart, not on the lips (Eph 5:19).
The congregation of a church is the ultimate choir, and it is without auditions-everyone can be in it and should be in it. The true beauty of such a congregational choir is that our voices and our hearts are knit together in praise. It is exhilarating to be part of a body of believers singing truth together.
Our Christmas choir will be a congregational choir with the focus being on "speaking to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making music with your heart to the Lord." (Eph 5:19). You may be surprised to find that singing more regularly will actually create improvement and confidence.
Q: What ages can attend this choir time?
A: All ages are welcome. As a congregational choir we reflect the congregation and all the different ages and stages that participate in our church.
"young men as well as young women, old and young together. Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted." Psalm 148:12-13a
Q: What songs will you be singing?
A: Come and find out!
Please come on out on Tuesday night, 6pm. We will meet upstairs in our newly repurposed space on the north side of the building. Looking forward to singing with you!
