ESL Coordinator

We’re excited to be moving forward with our new ESL ministry, and we’re currently looking for a volunteer coordinator to help organize and launch this outreach. If you have a heart for missions and enjoy helping people, this could be a great fit!

As announced at our most recent Members Meeting, our Missions Team has been working toward launching an ESL (English as a Second Language) ministry at South Calgary Community Church. This is an exciting opportunity to serve our community and share the love of Christ with people from around the world—right here in our neighbourhood.

To move this ministry forward, we are currently looking for a Volunteer ESL Coordinator. This person would not necessarily teach but would focus on organizing the program. We’re looking for someone with a heart for missions, a passion for helping people, and strong organizational skills.

The Coordinator will play a vital role in the success of this ministry. Responsibilities include:

• Ordering curriculum and materials

• Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer teachers

• Registering students and keeping attendance

• Organizing supplies and refreshments

• Planning special events and making announcements

• Reporting to the pastor and congregation

If we have three or more volunteer teachers, it’s preferable that the Coordinator focuses on organizing rather than teaching. An assistant could also help with teaching or act as a substitute when needed.
