The Doll Knitters continue to be a beautiful expression of compassion and creativity within our church family. This past year has been one of meaningful milestones, faithful service, and God-given opportunities to bless children around the world. We are grateful for every woman who gives her time and skill to this ministry, and we celebrate how God has used their hands and hearts to share His love in tangible ways.

This year has seen some changes in the leadership of the doll knitters. Jean Merriam has taken over the leadership role with the help of Marlene McCowan, Kathy Simpson and Helga Slobodian.
We also marked the 20th anniversary for our doll knitters. During our September 21st church service we recognized the group and especially Barbara Jean Morrison, the only surviving original doll knitter. We set a goal of 45,000 dolls to mark this milestone and reached it by the end of June.
In September 100 of our dolls made their way to Zambia with three sisters, Louisa Comber, Peggy Bell, and Kathryn Turnbull known as The Sisterhood of the Travelling Hammers. They do humanitarian work in the country where they grew up. They were building much needed toilets for a school. They joined us in October to give us an overview of their missions and we got to see a kindergarten class receive some of our dolls.
There are around 20 ladies that meet on Tuesday morning but we continue to look for knitters or not to join our group. We are willing to teach anyone.
Jean Merriam
