What is an Evangelistic Service, and why is it so important? The word Evangélion (εὐαγγέλιον) means Gospel, or good news. When we use this term we refer to the good news that Jesus Christ was born and through Him we can have salvation and eternal life.
Therefore, an evangelistic service is a service dedicated to preach Jesus as the only solution for a lost world. Jesus Himself told us in John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Usually our services are directed to those who know Jesus and already have a relationship with Him. We aim to encourage spiritual growth in the lives of each of our members. But what about those who never had the chance to hear about Jesus and His redemptive work?
There are people all around us that desperately need Jesus in their lives, and they just don't know it yet.
That's why is so important for us to have an occasional break into our regular sermon series and offer an evangelist service, when Jesus will be introduced, maybe for the first time, to someone who have never heard this good news of salvation.
We are planning to have an evangelist service in South Calgary on Sunday, October 31st, on our regular schedule.
How can you be part of this? First of all, pray that the Lord will use this service to reach the lost. That the Holy Spirit may bring those around us who needs to hear this often ignored message. So pray, pray and pray! Also you can invite people around you to join us (in-person or online).
